Children and youngsters are becoming more and more plugged into social media and the internet in this digital age, therefore issues like cyber hygiene, cyber security, and cyberbullying are relevant. Parents need to know what measures they can take to ensure the safety of their children. Under the direction of W/Principal Ms. Neerja Sethi, Umang Welfare Foundation President Arvinder Singh, Senior Vice President Anurag Acharya (a cyber security expert), Program Coordinator Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur, and other Team members, Shri Aurobindo International School organized an interactive session centered around this idea. Terminologies such as cyberbullying, hacking, fishing, cloning, data theft, digital fraud, and grooming were introduced to the students. The students were also exposed to many case studies, which further purged them of concerns about data security and privacy. He gave some advice on internet banking and secure online transactions before calling the meeting to a close. He also gave out the address website for reporting cybercrimes and said, “We should use the internet responsibly because it’s a technology, not a toy,” before calling the seminar to a close. The team members and the head of school also gave consolation prizes to the participants in the session-ending cyber hygiene quiz.
