In this digital age, children and young people are using social media and the internet more and more, therefore concerns like cyber hygiene, cyber security, and cyberbullying are important. Parents must be aware of the steps they can take to protect their children. Govt. High School Patiala Cantt arranged an interactive session around this concept, with guidance from W/Principal Rupinder kaur, President Arvinder Singh of the Umang Welfare Foundation, Program Coordinator Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur, and other Team members. The pupils were taught by Senior Vice President Anurag Acharya (Cyber Security Specialist), terms including data theft, digital fraud, cloning, hacking, cyberbullying, fishing, and grooming. In addition, a plethora of case studies were presented to the students, which helped allay their worries regarding privacy and data security. He concluded by calling the gathering to order and offering some guidance on online banking and safe online transactions. “We should use the internet responsibly because it’s a technology, not a toy,” he added, before concluding the lecture and providing the website address for reporting cybercrimes. The principal of the school and team members also awarded consolation prizes to those who completed the last cyber hygiene quiz of the session.
